Fall 2020 semester reopen plan
Dear Chapel family,
Five months ago, we made the decision to close the Student Center. This Wednesday, August 26th, we will reopen for the first time in over 5 months. Concern for the safety of students, staff and volunteers, as well as those coming to worship on Sundays all factored into the decisions that were approved by the Governing Board.
Here are the major changes:
- Building hours/access
The building will be open and accessible to those who have active key fobs/access cards from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. - Sunday worship times
Sunday morning worship times are 8:30 and 10:30 a.m., beginning this Sunday, August 30th. When Bible study resumes, it will be held from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. There will be no in-person Sunday School for the first semester. Worship services will continue to be less than an hour with reduced singing. - Wednesday Worship
Our first Wednesday Worship service will begin at 6:00 p.m. on September 2nd. A grab-n-go meal will follow the service. Subsequent Wednesday Worship services are planned for 7:30 p.m. beginning September 9th. - Food and coffee
For the first few weeks, coffee will not be available. We will monitor and add that service when deemed safe and appropriate. Food will be served either pre-packaged or in a takeout style. - Regular cleaning
The current housefellows will wipe down hard surfaces every evening during their walk-throughs. Those using the building will be asked to clean the space they used when they are finished. Bathrooms will be cleaned regularly. - Member key fobs
Key fobs/access cards will be active for members when the building reopens. Some access levels may have changed. Please check your access levels by testing your fob. If you need access to a part of the building, please contact the Chapel office (wlchapel@wlchapel.org).
Please pray that God will bless our students, staff and volunteers through the Chapel reopen, as we together strive to know Jesus Christ and make him known on Campus.
God bless you!
Peace in Jesus,
Pastor Bilitz
