Daniel Dexter, a staff minister from Christ Our Redeemer Lutheran Church (WELS) in El Paso, TX, will be visiting the Wisconsin Lutheran Chapel with “Scripture Storytelling.” He memorizes books of the Bible and shares them word-for-word in what he calls a “storytelling” style. “‘Memorization’ sounds boring,” Daniel says, “but it depends on what you are memorizing…and what you do with it!” This isn’t a dry recitation nor is it an actor’s performance. Daniel calls it a “living proclamation” that speaks to the listeners as participants, giving them a feel of what it may have been like to hear and see the words and works of God through the apostles and prophets. Daniel states: “A common encouragement I hear is that this storytelling makes the Bible come alive. But what I love about Scripture storytelling, and the reason it’s so powerful to me also as I share it, is that God’s Word is alive, active and dynamic with God’s presence and power; I’m just putting that character of God’s Word on display in proclamation.”

All are welcome for this special Scripture Storytelling event on Monday, April 9th at 6:30 P.M. following the Triple Dollar Dinner. Daniel will be sharing the dramatic account of the flood from Genesis, the very real and relatable struggles of the prophet Habakkuk, and powerful encouragement from Peter’s Second Letter. Invite friends and come and hear and experience God’s Word in this unique way!
